Hike on top of Grabrok crater in West of Iceland. The walk to the top is quite easy as the crater is only about 170 meters high (560 feet). There is a good path up to the top with man made steps. It has been popular among Icelanders for decades. Close by we have Glanni waterfall and Paradise Hollow and then we would vistit lovely Hraunfossar waterfall and Barnafoss waterfall. Thereafter you can, if wanted, go to Europe´s most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver, where you can take a relaxing spa at Krauma, a natural geothermal baths & spa (USD 33 per person). I then recommend a dinner on our way home at Englendingavik in Borgarfjordur. This place is both scenic and peaceful, where silence is only broken by the sound of birds and the ever changing sea. The old buildings standing at the bottom of the cove used to be the region's center for trade and commerce but now they are housing the restaurant with attached lodging facilities.

The South Coast has in some people's opinion the most stunning and awe inspiring landscapes in Iceland. The largest glaciers, most famous volcanoes, most dramatic cliffs and beautiful waterfalls. f. ex. the famous Eyjafjallajokull which erupted in 2010. We'll enjoy the mesmerizing waterfall of Skogarfoss, walk on the volcanic black sand beach of Reynisfjara, visit Vik, come to a close encounter with Solheimajokull Glacier and visit the magical Seljalandsfoss, and also the hidden waterfall Gljufrabui if wanted.

The Snaefellsnes peninsula or Iceland in a nutshell' as it is often called, is quite spectacular. This ninety-kilometer stretch in the West has it all. Most famous is Saefellsjokull, the mighty glacier and volcano that crowns the peninsula and was featured in Jules Verne's 'Journey to the Center of the Earth'. At Snaefellsnes you can head to sites such as the dramatic Londrangar basalt plug; the frequently photographed Kirkjufell mountain made famous by The Game of Thrones; the beautiful coastal scenery around the villages of Arnarstapi and Hellnar; the beautifully sculptured lava in Bersekjahraun, the windswept Budir church (The Little Black Church). Your day will be packed with beautiful sites and brilliant landscape where about 500 people waited patiently the 5th November 1993 for aliens to land on the magnificent glacier Snaefellsjokull!
